Women's Ministries
Women's Bible Study
Our women just finished an exciting journey in Believing God as we were challenged to practice present active participle believing God. This study by Beth Moore was challenging as well as rewarding to the 20+ women who joined in the journey. The two groups will take the summer off and resume with a new study in September. Stop back in August and see what our women's groups are up to.
For more information, contact Jacky at the church office (452-1319).
United Methodist Women

Next Meeting: August 19th @ 7:00pm. Topic: To be announced
The organized unit of United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
|
| The United Methodist Women's group meets every third Thursday of the month (except January). You do not need to be a church or United Methodist Women member to attend meetings. We participate in serving others in the local community as well as serving the needs of the church. Past functions of the group include programs for nursing homes, women and girls banquet, and the church talent show for the Sheboygan Senior Community. In 2009 our projects supported RCS, Open Door, Bridgeway, Salvation Army, Safe Way, Bellin Hospital School, Northcott House, Red Bird, Heifer International and Haiti. |

One major ministry of the UMW group is through our Prayer Chain. Engraved above the entrance to Fountain Park Church is "The House Of Prayer." We are called to be praying people. As a result of, not necessarily this saying, but of the Word of God, we have formed a Prayer Chain. The volunteer prayer committee of the UMW group is dedicated to continually encouraging our church members to pray for the sick and to intercede on behalf of someone else who needs God's help. In chapter six of the book of Matthew, Christ gave us "the Lords Prayer," which draws us nearer to God's love. We must have faith that our prayers will be answered. One example of prayer for us to follow is that of Moses, who often prayed to God on behalf of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. Also, Paul's writings often began with a prayer and ended with one. Therefore, we pray in solitude for our church family, for others, and for ourselves. Prayer requests for the Prayer Chain can be made through LaVerne or Ginny, or through the church office at (920) 452-1319. Please note that if you receive a call from Prayer Chain members, you should first write down the prayer request, second, you should pray (before leaving the phone), third, call your Prayer Chain members, and fourth, if a member is not home write a note to remind yourself to call that person.
Another section of the UMW group participates in the Reading Program which is sponsored by the United Methodist Women's national headquarters. Books in 4 different areas of interest (Spiritual Growth, Nurturing for Community, Social Action, and Education for Missions) are selected by national headquarters. If a woman of the church reads a certain number of books per month, and at least one from each category, certain recognition is given to that person. This recognition is presented at the district level in the form of certificates. National headquarters also publish two magazines for the UMW group. One magazine is entitled Response, which is about different ministries and missions and work that women of the church are involved. The other magazine entitled New World Outlook is about missions worldwide.
The UMW group also sells greeting cards, napkins and spices. The profits are used for missions and local projects such as the church kitchen.
